What's Still On My List In Fort Worth
Even with two weeks in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I still managed to rack up a list of things to do when I return. There are a few places that I'd love to return to and others I still haven't made it to. On top of that, there are also a few new places I've discovered. For example, there is an old department store warehouse that has recently turned into a budding community. There are lots of shops and restaurants to visit that I think would be great to spend an afternoon exploring. Here are a few other things that are on my list.
1. Horseback Riding at either the Stockyard Stables or Benbrook Stables. There are several great trail rides to take on horseback in Texas. I spent a lot of time around horses when I was in high school and it's something that I miss. Being able to take a horseback ride would be fantastic but I'm too afraid of my jumpiness where bugs are concerned to make this happen. I think it would be alright if I went when it was colder though.
2. Ghost Tour in the Stockyards. I love this kind of stuff. How neat would it be to go on an old west version of a ghost tour? You also learn plenty about this history of the Stockyards so it probably paints a great picture of the time that the "ghosts" are from.
3. Sip a specialty roast coffee from Cafe Brazil while eating breakfast. This restaurant sounds amazing. They also serve different coffee roasts from around the world regularly. They're open until late at night so it's a great place to get some work done later in the day as well with their free wi-fi.
4. Find my inner zen at the Water Gardens. I have not been here personally but I am dying to. The Fort Worth Water Gardens claim to be a relaxing oasis to calm your mind and refresh. The photos I have seen look incredible. This is a great free activity to do as well.
